Rowe IT – Blue/Brew Monday

Blue Monday typically refers to the third Monday in January, considered by some as the most depressing day of the year. Coined in the early 2000s, the concept combines factors like weather, post holiday blues, debt and failed New Year resolutions as the reason for declaring it the gloomiest day. Many use it as an opportunity to promote mental health awareness and self care, recognising the challenges people may face during this time. Whether or not Blue Monday holds genuine significance, it serves as a reminder to prioritise well-being and support one another through challenging periods.

As a way to encourage this, some have optimistically renamed Blue Monday Brew Monday to shift the emphasis towards fostering community and beating the New Year blues. In this animation created for Rowe IT, the company creatively joins the themes of Blue Monday and Brew Monday, encouraging viewers to reflect on the importance of prioritising and supporting one another during difficult times. The animation subtly encourages simple acts of kindness, like checking in on friends or colleagues to lend a listening ear over a cup of tea. Even small acts such as this can make a big difference in a person’s mental state and can brighten their entire day.
