Rowe IT – Software Engineer

With a growing focus on core STEM subjects, Rowe IT commissioned Pushed to create this short 2D animation to fully explain what a software engineer is and how important they are to everyday life.  With software being used in just about every career, there will always be a need for engineers to be able to solve issues and to bring in new ideas for updates and new types of software. This animation is aimed at a Key Stage 3 aged audience in order to grab their imagination and show how rewarding the profession can be and encourage children to get involved in this fun and creative profession. They cite examples of the core roles that software engineers have in nearly every single thing that we do, from GPS tracking, digital communications, and video game creation, as a way to encourage more people to get into this profession and make a difference.

This 2D animation was created using a combination of Adobe After Effects, Illustrator and Premier Pro. We were also careful to keep the theme and style of this video in line with previous animations we’ve created for Rowe IT, even while including elements that are more suited to the anticipated audience of children. By continuing the house style throughout all animations created for Rowe IT, we ensure the business is instantly recognisable. The result is an engaging, interesting graphic, designed to spark an interest in software engineering amongst the STEM-minded children in the audience.
