Ainsley Harriott’s Festive Food We Love – Titles

After an unprecedented 2020 that left people across the globe stuck at home and bored, Ainsley Harriott decided to do what he could to add a little bit of cheer to the world, especially during the holiday season, by premiering a new television series which looked at different festive dishes and took his viewers along on the journey of exploring what these dishes, as well as food in general, means to him. He regularly invited guest stars to join him, which gave him the opportunity to discuss and try different recipes based on the guest’s background. Food is one of the main ways that people of all cultures all over the world come together and explore relationships and identity, especially during the holidays. Running from September to November, Ainsley’s Festive Food We Love allowed viewers to join Ainsley on his journey of exploration of holiday food as well as providing the perfect way to get in the Christmas spirit.

This 2D animation was the opening title resolve and was part of a graphics  package provided for the programme that could be used throughout for transitions etc. It served as a brief interval that reinforced the overall festive atmosphere of the show, enhancing without taking away from the overall content of the episodes. The animators at Pushed used bright, two-toned letters with eye-catching Christmas motifs scattered across the title, which popped up as the camera panned across a glittering, sparkling Christmas ornament nestled in a festive Christmas tree. When combined with the jingle bells chiming from within the audio, the result is a bright, cheery title sequence that leaves viewers eager and expectant for the upcoming festive, Christmas-themed episode.
