The Equality and Human Rights Commission is an independent governing body whose role is to ensure that the people of Great Britain are treated with fairness, respect, and dignity across their workplaces and the public sector. While a large portion of their role entails monitoring and promoting laws and government activity that uphold equality and human rights for all, part of their mission also includes raising awareness of human rights principles so that the general public is educated regarding both their legal rights as well as the proper courses of action to uphold human rights legislation. Recently, they commissioned Pushed to create a three-part animation to raise awareness for the discrimination of individuals experiencing menopause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This video is part of a three-part series created by Pushed using After Effects, Illustrator, and Premier Pro. It provides background for the series by explaining the law regarding the duty of employers to implement appropriate, reasonable adjustments for their staff who are experiencing menopausal symptoms. The Equality Act of 2010 was created to protect individuals in the workplace from discrimination, harassment, and victimisation on the basis of disability, sex and age. The video explains this information in an accessible manner and highlights the fact that, from a legal standpoint, employers may not refuse reasonable adjustments be made to accommodate the menopausal worker.
